Are You Ready for Some Football? Parties, That Is!

Are You Ready for Some Football? Parties, That Is!

The smell of slow cooker queso, tables graced with trays of chicken wings and the roar of couchside fans can only mean one thing, it’s FOOTBALL SEASON! With football season already in full swing, you can bet there is going to be a multitude of parties to attend and potentially host. Football parties are a ton of fun. However, hosting a party can be a bit stressful if not properly planned. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of tips that will take the stress out of your party planning so you can enjoy your Sunday filled with football fun.

Have a Selection of Chips

Chips are a versatile food. They can be dipped, made into a nachos and even be used as a breading. Chips are in a sense like drinks, everyone has their preference and with so many options it’s hard to choose just a flavor or two. A good rule of thumb when buying chips for your party is to have tortilla chips for dipping and 2 or 3 other flavors to add some variety.
Pro tip: Stay away from the super spicy flavors, unless otherwise requested.

Make Sure Your TV Plan Has the Game

We know this tip may sound a little obvious. But believe it or not, this unfortunate phenomenon has happened more than you’d think. Not all TV packages have the right channel for every game, so doing a little pregame homework on your TV plan is strongly recommended. There is nothing more embarrassing than inviting a group of people over to your house to watch something you don’t have. Make that dreaded call to your TV provider and confirm that you can access the game.

Skip the Catering and Throw a Potluck

Depending on how large your football party is, feeding everyone may seem a little unrealistic with the budget you have in mind. Unless you enjoy spending all the time and money it takes to provide all the food for your party, we would recommend having everyone bring a dish. This will save you time, money and more importantly alleviate some of that pre-party stress.
Pro tip: make a list of needed foods and have people sign up for what they want to bring. This way you won’t be taking a gamble on someone bringing food that most wouldn’t even bother

Keep the Bathroom Well-Stocked

Where there is spicy and hearty foods there is a heavily used bathroom nearby. Hence why stocking up on bathroom essentials before having a football party is generally a good idea. Be sure your bathroom is stocked with plenty of toilet paper, hand soap, and clean hand towels. If you are expecting a big crowd we would recommend getting a NoMO Toilet deodorizer on your porcelain throne to handle all of those foul game-day bathroom odors.

Bring Out the Extra Chairs

Depending on the number of people you are having over, grabbing a few extra chairs never hurt. There’s nothing more uncomfortable for your guests than a bunch of football fans standing and screaming around them as they try to sit and enjoy their chips and queso. Grab your guests a few chairs, have them kick up their feet and enjoy the game it was meant to be seen, sitting down.

Stock Up on Drinks

It’s important to have a variety of drinks at a football party. Generally, many guests will bring their own alcohol, but anything else will be the host’s responsibility. It’s important to have a good variety of beverages because not everyone drinks soda and water isn’t exactly an exciting alternative. We would recommend grabbing 2-3 different kinds of soda, a few non-carbonated drinks (juice or tea) and depending on the crowd, maybe a few beers.

Once the last few points have been scored, the party is over and people start clearing out it’s time to start everyone’s favorite part of hosting a party, the post-party clean. Sure you may have a few good friends that stay behind and help out, but for the most part the cleaning burden is all yours. A big reason why many people aren’t very fond of hosting football parties is the time commitment needed to clean up after the party has ended. However, if you have an EyeVac sweeping vacuum you can tackle the most time-consuming part of your post-party clean in just a few seconds. Just grab a broom, run it across the floor and let the EyeVac do the rest. Start cleaning your floors quickly with the EyeVac, the perfect post- party cleaning companion!.
